Colored diamonds are a beautiful addition to a diamond necklace, with black diamonds providing the most contrast. If this is the type of look you want shopping around will be worth your while. Take your time, and buy the piece that speaks to you. My personal favorite is the vintage style drop necklace. There is something for me here that just says timeless elegance and beauty. These are available in a number of different strands and carat weights suitable for all different shapes and sizes. Necklaces make a beautiful gift all on their own but matching diamond earrings are never a bad idea. Drop earrings make a stunning complement to the drop necklace. If the necklace type that you like has no matching earrings, think about a pair of diamond studs. It’s hard to go wrong with these. Lastly, if you want to spice up your necklace, in addition to colored diamonds think about the gold that the stones are set in. Pink or yellow gold instead of the currently popular white gives a completely different look. When in doubt, if you budget allows - go big. This is especially true if the lucky lady has occasions to wear beautiful jewelry.
